The department of surgery runs regular General Surgical OPDs
which do general surgery
consultations every day. Super specialty clinics, namely
Neuro surgery, Urology, Cardio thoracic Surgery, Pediatric
surgery & Plastic Surgery clinics are conducted everyday, by
qualified super specialists. Number of patients attending
Surgery OPDs has increased tremendously
over the last 10 years. Inpatient numbers and surgical
operations have increased drastically over the years with
all the 3 surgery operation theatres running to full
capacity.
State of the art technology is being used for advanced
Laparoscopic surgery with high definition 3 chip cameras,
endourology and advanced plastic surgery with the help of
Zeis operating microscope. Neuro and spinal surgeries are
being carried out with advanced
instrumentation. Upper and lower gastrointestinal
endoscopies are also part of the
armamentarium of the surgery department. With the cutting
edge technology and available skilled man power, the
department has to its credit many firsts, in terms of
pioneering surgical operations in the city. The trauma
centre has acquired C-arm with Digital Substraction
Angiography equipment, starting shortly.
